Hello, I’m Alexa Stahl.
I’m a San Diego based Product Designer with 12+ years of experience building products for Silicon Valley companies, including Zendesk and Yelp. I specialize in product-led growth, and today I’m focused on simplifying the journey from trial to purchase at Zendesk.
I do my best work on challenging, high-stakes problems that sit between people and the business. That means aligning product, engineering, and go-to-market partners around a clear direction, then getting into the details until the experience feels simple.
Lately I'm focused on AI across the customer journey: driving AI adoption in our trial experiences and bringing AI pricing into checkout, designing both so complex systems feel understandable, useful, and human.
In this chapter
Before becoming a parent, I spent a lot of time on design community work. On Youtube I was teaching design skills, sharing resources, and helping people break into the field. I've paused that for now.
Parenthood has made me more focused and intentional about where my energy goes, and it shows up in my work: setting clearer priorities, getting to the point, and staying patient with hard problems.
How I work
The best work I've been part of came from strong teams, not a single person. As a design lead, I focus on:
Creating clarity: framing the problem and its tradeoffs, and visualizing ideas so teams can make decisions with confidence
Making space for good ideas: welcoming them from anyone, at any stage
Building trust: across product, design, and engineering
Great products don't happen by accident. They're built intentionally, and together.
